Description
An area-detector scanning method that improves resolution by 1.7x and increases signal-to-noise ratio via pixel reassignment.
How this lab uses this technology
In our laboratory, this area detector scanning technology is used not only for super resolution imaging but also as a highly versatile detection mode for demanding applications. While it enables enhanced resolution for visualizing fine structures such as mitochondria, vesicles and small subcellular particles, it also significantly improves signal to noise ratio in standard confocal acquisitions.
Importantly, the detector can be used in fast acquisition modes, making it especially valuable for live cell and in vivo experiments where speed and sensitivity are critical. It allows us to capture rapid biological processes with improved image quality, providing an extra level of detail without compromising temporal resolution. This flexibility makes it a powerful tool for both structural and dynamic studies.
